Responsibilities Now Include Entire Pacific Northwest
John Miller has been named senior managing director of Cushman & Wakefield
of Oregon, Inc., in addition to his similar duties in Seattle for Cushman & Wakefield of
Washington, Inc.
"John has done a tremendous job in building our business in Seattle and Bellevue, and
we are confident he can do the same in Portland," said Tony Marano, Cushman &
Wakefield CEO of the Americas.
Miller replaces Terry Shanley, who left the firm in March to pursue other business
interests.
The new appointment gives Miller overall responsibility for the Pacific Northwest.
In 2005, Miller more than doubled the revenue for the firm's Puget Sound brokerage services,
as compared to 2004. The total revenue for Cushman & Wakefield's Puget Sound
operations also increased by more than 80 percent in 2005, as compared to 2004. And, in
2005, Cushman & Wakefield's Puget Sound offices experienced the highest total revenue on
record in the region.
"Under John's leadership, revenue in our Puget Sound offices has more than doubled and
the reputation of the company, its products and services has increased tremendously in the
Seattle business community," added Marano.
Miller joined Cushman & Wakefield in late 2004 from Seattle-based Unico Properties,
where he was general manager of the Metropolitan Tract, a 1.8 million square foot real estate
portfolio of ten contiguous acres in downtown Seattle. He was responsible for managing
the company's Class A, high-rise office and retail space on the Tract, including the execution
of a five-year, $100 million property renovation plan.
In 2004, the Puget Sound Business Journal named Miller one of its "Forty under 40"
rising business leaders.
Prior to Unico, he was controller for Alaska Northwest Properties, Inc., a former real
estate subsidiary of Alaska Air Group. He earned a bachelor's degree in business
accounting from Washington State University and he completed the University of Washington Real
Estate Certification program.
Miller serves on the Corporate Board for the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County, he
serves as vice chair for the Metropolitan Improvement District and he serves on the board for
the Commercial Brokers Association. He is also a member of BOMA and NAIOP.
