Cushman & Wakefield, a leading global real estate services firm, is a co-agent in the
commercialization of Gemini Park shopping centres owned by Gemini Holdings. With further market
expansion Gemini Holdings intends to increase its volume of leasable space. The extension of
Gemini Park Bielsko-Biała is to start in mid-2012.
The Gemini Park Bielsko-Biała shopping and entertainment centre at 20 Leszczyńska Street was
opened in May 2009. It offers 32,000 sq.m of floorspace in 90 stores, restaurant and service
units. Its anchor tenants include: the Real hypermarket, Cinema City, H&M, C&A,
Reserved, House, Mohito, S.Oliver, Solar, New Yorker, Martes Sport and Ryłko. The active
marketing won recognition for Gemini Park Bielsko-Biała across the shopping centre industry
with the Best Shopping Centre 2009 in Poland Award in the prestigious ranking of Shopping
Center Forum & Awards 2010, and the Best Sales Campaign Award in the PRCH Retail Awards
2011 program. In Q3 2013 another 16,000 sq.m is to be added to its retail space at the site in
Bora-Komorowskiego Street. With the development pipeline completed, Gemini Park Bielsko-Biała
will provide 43,500 sq.m of leasable space, 140 stores and service units, and 1,200 parking
spaces.
Gemini Park Tarnów at 127 Nowodąbrowska Street is the largest shopping centre in the Tarnów
region. It came onto the market in August 2010 and provides over 42,500 sq.m of floorspace with
nearly 100 stores, restaurant and service units. Its anchor tenants include Tesco, Castorama,
Media Markt, C&A, Jysk, Mango, KappAhl, KFC, Calzedonia, Intimissimi, Martes Sport and
Smyk, as well as local and regional manufacturers and service companies.
The two shopping centres have been developed by Gemini Holdings with its headquarters in
Kraków. Gemini Holdings began to operate on the Polish market in 1993 by cooperating with
British Petroleum. Later it became involved in completing projects for chains such as Géant,
Carrefour, Tesco and Lidl throughout Poland, including Dąbrowa Górnicza, Bielsko-Biała, Tychy
and Rzeszów. However, the decision to have modern shopping centres developed by Gemini
Holdings’ subsidiaries came as a major turning point in the company’s history.
Magdalena Gniazdowska, Associate, Retail Department, Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Cushman
& Wakefield leases premises in both shopping centres in cooperation with GREM Gemini Real
Estate Management and BOIG Property Consulting. It will also participate in the
commercialization of the new part of the shopping centre in Bielsko-Biała currently under
construction. We aim to solicit new tenants offering household appliances and electronics,
multimedia and designer clothing.”
