Cushman &Wakefield has hired two top retail agents, Marc Alfken and Stefan Weiss, to
strengthen and expand its retail team across Germany. Marc Alfken, formerly head of retail
leasing at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Germany, has joined Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) as
a Partner, Head of Retail in Germany and member of the C&W German Board. Stefan Weiss,
previously a National Director at JLL is joining Cushman &Wakefield as a Partner and Head
of Retail Leasing Germany.
Marc Alfken has 16 years of experience in the retail real estate sector and was most
recently National Director and Head of Retail leasing for JLL’s retail teams in nine offices in
Germany. From 1999 until the takeover of Kemper’s in 2008, he was a director and share holder
building up Kemper’s Frankfurt office and further expanding Kemper’s letting activities
nationally. Prior to joining Kemper’s in 1996 he completed his real-estate professional
qualifications with Müller International, now BNP Paribas Real Estate as well as completing
advanced professional studies at the European Business School.
Stefan Weiss is a National Director with JLL, who began his career in Kemper’s Frankfurt
office in 1999. In 2008, he moved to the Stuttgart office where he significantly strengthened
the retail team. From 2011 he led retail letting in Hamburg as well as providing coordination
for the entry of international retailers into the German market.
Together Marc and Stefan have over 30 years of experience providing advice, brokerage and
concept planning for retail real estate. They also specialise in advising national and
international retailers on their expansion as well as advising owners and developers on the
concept, planning and letting of retail space in prime locations and shopping centres.
