David Bernhaut
Cushman & Wakefield’s Metropolitan Area Capital Markets Group (MACMG) is the
region’s leading suburban investment sales team, comprised of a 14-person team with
diverse experience in finance, accounting, syndications, banking, market research and leasing
brokerage. Our proven ability to drive pricing for our clients has enabled us to maintain
dominance across all property types (office, industrial, retail, multi-family and land) in
Northern New Jersey, Fairfield County, CT and all of New York outside of New York City
(excluding Staten Island). The team, founded in 1987 and based out of East Rutherford,
New Jersey, is lead by the long-time partnership of Andy Merin, David Bernhaut and Gary
Gabriel.
As the dominant investment sales team in the tri-state suburban market, MACMG completed $847
million of investment sales in 2008 despite the challenges of the tightening credit
markets. 2007 marked a record sales volume of $2.7 billion, up from $2.4 billion in
2006. Since 2005, the team has completed 158 transactions, totaling 42 million square
feet, with an aggregate value of $8.1 billion. The team has been the #1 firm in its
respective market since Real Estate Alert has been tracking the market, maintaining a 50%
market share since 2002.
