Gil Medina
Biography
Mr. Medina is responsible for overall business operations, strategic business development,
recruiting and development of brokers and staff, increasing market share, and providing
leadership and direction for East Rutherford, Parsippany and Edison, New Jersey offices.
He offers more than 25 years of experience in private business and public sector work.
Mr. Medina served as the Secretary of Commerce for the state of New Jersey where he was
responsible for planning and implementing business climate and organizational reforms that
dramatically improved the state’s economy. He was the Whitman
Administration’s point-person in the creation of incentive, finance and regulatory
programs that today constitute the state’s core economic growth policies. Mr. Medina's
work, in his various professional capacities, has resulted in incentive benefits totaling more
than $1 billion.
As Commerce Secretary Mr. Medina managed all negotiations with foreign and domestic firms
wishing to expand or relocate in New Jersey. He personally conducted negotiations that
brought major relocations and expansions to New Jersey. He was responsible for New
Jersey’s international trade and investment promotion strategies. In that capacity,
he worked with senior government officials and executives of multinational corporations to
encourage investment and trade with New Jersey.
As the co-founder of C&W’s life science and technology practice, Mr. Medina
provides integrated solutions and comprehensive real estate services to government, private and
academic research organizations, and corporations seeking to develop R&D or high-tech pilot
production facilities.
Mr. Medina is a technology professional who has participated in the formulation of
technology policy in various capacities as the Secretary of Commerce for the State of New
Jersey. Mr. Medina was also the Vice President for International Business Development for
a Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol telecommunications company, and then the President and General
Counsel of a start-up biotechnology company that integrates various technologies to perform
protein analysis for the discovery of human pharmaceuticals and therapeutics. In
addition, Mr. Medina is an attorney and Certified Public Accountant who has developed extensive
expertise in sales, technology, as well as regulatory and administrative matters.
Mr. Medina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University and a Juris Doctor degree
from Temple University.
