OUR SERVICES
As a real property valuation and consulting firm, C&W’s specialty Financial Reporting
Practice includes exclusively trained and experienced individuals highly credentialed and
familiar with financial reporting and issues on both national and international levels.
EVOLUTION OF FINANCIAL REPORTING
Financial reporting is in a period of revision, improvement, and new understandings. For
more than four decades, C&W’s Financial Reporting Practice experts have participated in the
development and implementation of financial reporting and corresponding valuation standards
beginning in the early 1970s. Collectively, FRP’s experts have diversified case experience
covering many client issues, legal jurisdictions, and property types. They are experienced in
working within, forming, and when necessary managing multi-disciplinary teams comprised of
valuation and non-valuation experts.
SINGLE SOURCE SOLUTIONS
By design this specialty practice includes both valuation and non-valuation experts in
recognition that financial reporting activities may or may not culminate in valuations, but
must include research, analysis, team decisions, regulatory understandings, client counseling
and representation.
A customary engagement begins with analysis of client needs, discussion with other experts,
analysis of information and needs with the reporting entity, and decisions as to objectives and
most appropriate courses of action. When working with other experts, the Financial Reporting
Practice works within prescribed scope of work guidelines, but continues to provide advice and
counsel from its wide experience and case knowledge.
ROBUST ADVICE
Many engagements have the potential of litigation or threatened litigation. The Financial
Reporting Practice’s extensive experience in litigation and litigation analysis/support assist
clients if litigation is unavoidable but FRP’s approach is to assist clients in avoiding
litigation where possible. When litigation is involved, the group may act in an independent or
an advocate position as circumstances warrant. When appropriate, both positions can be
accommodated with necessary disclosures and internal divisions to preserve independence for
testimonial and consulting experts.
C-LEVEL INTERACTION AND CONSULTING
One of the strengths of C&W’s Financial Reporting Practice is the ability of its experts
to work with CEOs, CFOs, accountants, auditors, Board members, lawyers, advisors, experts, and
others on relevant and meaningful levels. The scope of financial reporting issues requires a
depth of knowledge and understanding that surpasses the work commonly performed by the
valuation community in the United States, but is well understood globally.
PEER-TO-PEER REVIEW
For clients, this provides a peer- or professional-level counterpart association in the
manner in which engagements and their major issues are addressed by C&W’s Financial
Reporting Practice. For other experts, this provides a peer to peer or peer to other
professional level association that improves communication, provides higher quality services
across the spectrum of disciplines and entities involved, and usually produces cost savings to
clients. Most agree that this approach provides a cost conscious, yet highly professional,
approach that is unique and—we believe—is the pattern that others will follow.
SPECIALITY PRACTICE RESOURCES
C&W has a number of specialty practices and other groupings of experts who deal with
real estate. The Financial Reporting group has access to these experts across the globe,
bringing not only their individual and geographic skills into the cadre of available resources,
but their highly specialized property skills as well. This experience and the capabilities
outlined above are, simply said, not equaled anywhere in the world.
CONFIDENTIALLY
Client engagements in financial reporting are considered confidential until disclosed by the
client. We are not at liberty to publicly disclose specific engagements. We will be happy to
discuss our more specific qualifications and experience in person.
